Future-Focused, Action-Oriented

Our Coaching Approach

Based on the work of Dr. Jeffrey E. Auerbach, we utilize a future-focused, action-oriented approach which focuses on supporting the client’s goals and desires.  Our training and method incorporate Auerbach’s four-stage GOOD Coaching Model™ which seeks to:

  • Clarify goals
  • Explore options
  • Identify obstacles
  • Take meaningful action

Our approach also integrates various assessment tools and appreciative inquiry, which is a method that focuses on individual, team, and/or institutional strengths (versus deficits).

Consulting for Higher Education Leaders

OUR EXPERIENCE

Drawing from years of experience as higher education administrators, we integrate the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm as a practical framework in our consulting work. We help institutional leaders and leadership teams intentionally use each element to deepen understanding, make meaning of experience, and take well‑grounded action.

  • Context — guiding leaders to understand the unique environment, history, and mission shaping their institution

  • Experience — surfacing and working with real‑world leadership challenges as primary sources of learning

  • Reflection — supporting leaders in making meaning of that experience in service of thoughtful planning and discernment

  • Action — helping leaders identify and take prudent, mission‑aligned steps

  • Evaluation — partnering with leaders to assess the effectiveness of actions taken and the lessons learned

What an Engagement Includes:

  • One‑on‑one coaching (60 to 90-minute sessions, once every two weeks – adjusted as needed)
  • May incorporate work with the individual’s leadership team (if requested)
  • An initial three‑month commitment, with option to extend by mutual agreement
  • Confidential, goal‑aligned sessions focused on leadership growth and clarity
